The University of Mary Hardin Baylor s Scott and White College of Nursing seeks an Assistant / Associate Professor for its Department of Baccalaureate Nursing beginning in August of xxxx. UMHB seeks faculty who are active Christians and dedicated teacher-scholars to prepare students for leadership, service, and faith-informed discernment in a global society. The College of Nursing offers two undergraduate degree programs which lead to the BSN degree. The Department also offers a Master of Science in Nursing Degree. UMHB is conveniently located in Belton, an historic town of 19,000 in the heart of central Texas. Excellent schools, abundant cultural and recreational opportunities, and a high quality of life are hallmarks of the local community. Faculty Responsibilities: Activities required of all faculty include exemplary teaching, curriculum development and student advising; professional attainment; and service to the department, college, university, and the community. While primarily a teaching institution, UMHB recognizes and rewards research, publication, and other forms of scholarly attainment. Specific Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate courses in medical-surgical nursing and related subjects such as pharmacology and ethics. Full-time faculty members typically teach 12-14 hours per semester with three course preparations. Qualifications: Doctoral degree in nursing or education or a related field. Master s Degree in Nursing will be considered. Tenure track requires terminal degree in hand. Excellent teaching and communication skills, a dedication to professional attainment, and commitment to quality improvement are essential. Must be active, committed Christian.
