Job Description:
Work Schedule: 40+ hours per week which may include weekends. Must have open availability any day of the week. Hourly Pay: 12.00 per hour Responsibilities and Duties Schedule drivers to pick:up or deliver loads to customers or vendors Assign drivers to trucks and provide accurate direction to pickup and delivery facilities Keep in touch with drivers throughout the day Consider driver concerns to maintain driver safety and retention Assist drivers dealing with unexpected situations such as a closed loading dock, overweight loads, and any type of accidents Keep records, monitor driver daily logs for errors or violations Establish record of customer service to both driver and customer Coordinate and manage most efficient route to remain cost effective Identify and evaluate any special needs for each load Required Education HS Diploma Required Skills/Licenses/Certifications Minimum 2 years experience in the trucking industry or other dispatch experience Must have general knowledge of highway systems in the regions in which drivers work Ability to read and communicate weather related information Ability to communicate professionally with multiple positions within the organization PC operation to a relatedly moderate level including ability to learn various customer systems Ability to build trust and confidence with management and supervision Manage time effectively and adapt quickly to changing priorities Ability to work independently with minimal oversight Ability to follow written instruction and documented procedures Team player who works productively with wide range of people Ability to recognize and understand product numbers and alpha/numeric codes Physical Demand and Working Conditions Talking, hearing, repetitive hand motions, standing, walking, sitting climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, and eye/hand/foot coordination Light to medium physical exertion and light to medium physical effort frequently required. *The company reserves the right to change or reassign job duties or to combine positions at any time.
